Full Preview (Fully Painted) and Next Steps
Alright so this is the current status, I've been working a bit extra off-camera to get this to where it is. This means the majority of the major re-topology work of the exterior is finally done. Now I am steering my aim to get working propulsion. The only issue is finding a suitable power source in-game to get her moving at a decent pace. I don't want to be cruising at two knots in this thing, I'm hoping to match the USCGC Healy's top speed of 17 kts.
Initially I am thinking nuclear power, as it would fit with the theme of it being a scientific experiment/research vessel by Aperture Science. Though recent videos I've seen of the nuclear power at work inside Stormworks leads me to believe a nuclear-electric might not generate enough power, I hope I'm wrong, but the only way I will find out is when I go to implement it. If all else fails, I will switch to a diesel electric setup to match the USCGC Healy, as the Healy is what this ship is primarily based off of.
Once I get functioning propulsion, and all the electrics are worked out, I will then focus on the behemoth of a task I like to call "Interior Decorating". I plan on detailing every inch of this ship with functional decorations and a complete interior (don't get lost).
With that being said, I can't wait to see where this journey leads! Wish me luck, please. Remember my deadline is March 31st!
